This 2-day international workshop on ‘Transnational Dimensions of Energy Transitions: Politics and Inequalities in and beyond Latin America and West Asia-North Africa’ was co-organized by Dr. Benjamin Schuetze, Dr. Alke Jenss, Jun. Prof. Dr. Rosa Lehmann and Dr. Thilo Wiertz. During a public lecture Prof. Dr. Natalie Koch (Syracuse University) and Dr. Hamza Hamouchene (Transnational Institute) discussed questions of energy transition and Gulf geopolitics, as well as energy colonialism in North Africa. The event was funded by the Young Academy for Sustainability Research (YAS) at the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS) and moderated by YAS member and ABI senior researcher Dr. Benjamin Schuetze.
